Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson to final meeting of Ban Ki - moon's sustainability panel
On 13-14 December, Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson will take part in the final meeting of the High - level Panel on Global Sustainability, appointed by UN Secretary - General Ban Ki - moon, in New York.
The task of the Panel is to formulate a new vision for sustainable development. The purpose of the meeting is to agree on practical recommendations to governments, companies, civil society and international organisations on how to achieve sustainable development.
The Panel will deliver its final report with recommendations to the Secretary - General on 12 January 2012. The report is expected to provide important input to the preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio 2012).
