Princess Estelle's Christening, 22 May 2012

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is responsible for media accreditation for the Christening. The period of application for accreditation was 25 April - 9 May. The accreditation is now closed.

An approved accreditation will provide access to briefings and detailed information about arrangements in connection with the Christening.

An accreditation-card together with a special pool-card/position-card is required for access to designated areas for media around and in the Royal Palace. Please note that these areas have a very limited number of seats.

The areas are:

OUTER COURTYARD, THE ROYAL PALACE
Limited photo opportunity/media position.
Arrival of guests e.g. Swedish officials, Swedish business community, the diplomatic corps and private guests pass the position on foot, before entering the Royal Palace. Royal guests and other international high level guests will pass the Outer Courtyard by car.

SOUTH VAULT (SOUTH ENTRANCE), THE ROYAL PALACE
Photo pool.
Position is opposite the entrance to the Royal Chapel.
All guests will pass this position on foot, ascending the stairs to the Royal Chapel - and after the christening ceremony descending the same stairs.

THE CHRISTENING CEREMONY
A number of Swedish and international media companies have been invited by the Swedish Royal Court to attend the Christening Ceremony in the Royal Chapel. Reporters only.

Media Centre at the International Press Centre, Ministry for Foreign Affairs

The International Press Centre at Fredsgatan 6 in central Stockholm will function as a media centre for mainly international media.

Accreditation cards and pool-cards will be handed out at the Media Centre.

22 May 8.00-20.00
23 May 8.00-18.00

The media centre is equipped with fixed and wireless networks and ISDN. There are around 50 workstations in the media centre and an info-point with information about the events and about Sweden.

On 22 May (10.45-13.30), the SVT (Swedish Television) live coverage from the Christening Ceremony will be broadcast in the Media Centre on a largre screen TV. A professional English translator will be available for international media during the screening. A priest from the Church of Sweden will be present for information on christening traditions and ceremonies.

Press briefing on 21 May 17.00 in the Media Centre

Meet the Director of Information and Press Department of the Swedish Royal Court, representatives from the Church of Sweden, the Swedish Institute and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Media Centre staff at an informal press briefing on Monday 21 May at 17.00.

The briefing will take place at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Media Centre at Fredsgatan 6 and will be held in English. (A briefing in Swedish is scheduled for 14.00.)

The briefing will cover information on the programme of the event, practical matters and media services. All participants are available for questions.

Host broadcaster for the Royal Christening on 22 May will be the Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT).
